Κλείνει το FBI την υπόθεση με τα υπηρεσιακά e-mail που είχαν σταλεί από τον προσωπικό ηλεκτρονικό λογαριασμό της Χίλαρι Κλίντον όταν ήταν υπ. Εξωτερικών.
Ο διευθυντής της ομοσπονδιακής αστυνομίας, Τζέιμς Κόμεϊ σε συνέντευξη Τύπου, δήλωσε πως θα εισηγηθεί στο αμερικανικό υπουργείο δικαιοσύνης ότι «κανείς λογικός εισαγγελέας» δεν θα κατηγορούσε την Χίλαρι Κλίντον για τη χρήση του προσωπικού της server για τα emails όταν ήταν υπουργός Εξωτερικών. Ωστόσο ο Κόμεϊ πρόσθεσε ότι η κ. Κλίντον ήταν «εξαιρετικά απρόσεκτη» ως προς τον χειρισμό εμπιστευτικών πληροφοριών.
Οντως χρησιμοποίησε ιδιωτικό διακομιστή για απόρρητα μηνύματα
«Δεν επιβάλλεται η άσκηση ποινικής δίωξης», είπε ο Κόμι, αν και όπως επισήμανε ορισμένα από τα e-mail που έστειλε η Κλίντον χρησιμοποιώντας έναν ιδιωτικό διακομιστή ήταν πράγματι διαβαθμισμένα «απόρρητα».
Η χρήση μη εγκεκριμένων από το υπουργείο εξωτερικών λογαριασμών ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου που έκανε η Χίλαρι Κλίντον λίγο έλειψε να επηρεάσει την εκστρατείας της για το χρίσμα των Δημοκρατικών εν όψει των προεδρικών εκλογών.
Η ίδια η Κλίντον είχε παρουσιαστεί οικειοθελώς στα γραφεία του FBI στην Ουάσινγκτον το περασμένο Σάββατο, όπου κατέθεσε για την υπόθεση σε μια διαδικασία που κράτησε τρεισήμισι ώρες.
Τραμπ: Το παιχίδι είναι στημένο
Αμεσως μετά το τέλος της συνέντευξης τύπου του διευθυντή του FBI, ο ρεπουμπλικανός υποψήφιος για το χρίσμα Ντόναλντ Τραμπ σχολίασε ότι «το σύστημα είναι παραβιασμένο».
«Πολύ πολύ άδικη απόφαση. Ως συνήθως μια κακή απόφαση» έγραψε στο Twitter ο Τραμπ και κατηγόρησε τον Τζέιμς Κόμεϊ ότι αν και αποδέχθηκε ότι τη Χίλαρι Κλίντον ότι έθεσε σε κίνδυνο την εθνική ασφάλεια των ΗΠΑ, δεν της απήγγειλε κατηγορίες. «Ο διευθυντής του FBI είπε ότι η διεφθαρμένη Χίλαρι, έθεσε σε κίνδυνο την εθνική ασφάλειά μας.
